DISclose can be seen as a continuation of the color series, D&S, however, doing away with staged interventions in order to focus on the immediacy of the protagonists’ action(s).
The strong b/w contrasts convey a directness to various living conditions, including the public space as a strong identity marker, which, through the succession of the slides turns the whole picture series into a photographic road movie. In its narrativity, DISclose concentrates on aspects of the everyday, which, due to globalized values can no longer be traced according to geographical or nation-bound characteristics. Hence, the fusion of American and European settings emphasizes the genre-specific modes of depicting ephemeral textures of reality.
